Кongur Speed Climb is one of the most challenging mountain running competitions in Bulgaria. The participants should climb 1750 meters only for 10.8 kilometers along the steep and beautiful northern slopes of Belasitsa.

The route of Кongur Speed Climb for runners starts in the center of Petrich. After about 700 meters on the streets of the town the trail climbs steeply following the main ridge leading to Kongur peak. Passing through chestnut and beech forests the path crosses the road Kongur mountain hut 5 times before reaching the tourist shelter Rozova Polyana (1030 meters a. s. l.). Then the climb continues to Kongur mountain hut (1280 meters a. s. l.). At Varshiloto locality (1610 meters a.s.l.) the path climbs out of the forest and continues along the open panoramic ridge to the summit of Kongur peak - 1951 meters a. s. l.
