Belasitsa Sky Run is a trail running race that requires participants to be in good physical and mental condition with appropriate equipment and to know and accept the terms and conditions for participation listed here.

Route
Belasitsa Sky Run offers two routes:
Belasitsa Sky Run - 81.4 km, 4100 D +
Belasitsa Sky Run Short - 31,6 km 1740 D +
The start of Belasitsa Sky Run is in the village of Smolari, Municipality of Novo Selo (FYR Macedonia).

Belasitsa Sky Run Short in the village of Kamena, Municipality Petrich (Bulgaria)

The finish of both routes is in the town of Petrich

 


The two routes will be marked so as to ensure the most unhindered passage of the participants. Each competitor is responsible for following the marking while moving along the route and not departing from it.

Right of participation
Participation in Belasitsa Sky Run can only be taken by persons over 18 years of age.


Participation in Belasitsa Sky Run can only be taken by registered on the official site of the event - http://active-belasitsa.com entrants.


A short-distance running event will take place on race day in the town of Petrich for all who do not have the opportunity to join the Belasitsa Sky Run on the day of the race. Expect more information on this run soon.

Requirements for participants


Competitors should be well acquainted with all the risks and challenges involved in participating in such trail running race and to be able to cope with them. Each participant must be prepared to deal with physical fatigue or injuries, severe weather conditions, orientation on the mountainside, moving on difficult and varied terrain often with steep slopes, encounters with wildlife and others.
Each participant is responsible for his/her safety during the event! By submitting the registration form, each participant declares that he/she is physically healthy, has the necessary skills to participate in the competition, and that he/she has individual responsibility for his/hers actions (intentional or unintentional) during the event.
Running is a physical activity that can cause physical overload, injuries or even lead to the risk of a fatal outcome. We recommend that all participants consult their GP prior to participating.
Each participant is required to protect the environment. Do not pollute, destroy plant or animal species and follow the legal regimes regimes of the protected areas through which the route passes.
Each participant undertakes to follow the instructions of the team responsible for conducting the competition.



Mandatory minimum personal equipment


For the safe running of the competition each participant must carry the following mandatory minimum personal equipment:


  1. Waterproof and windproof jacket;
    2. Torch/headlight (mandatory only for participants on Belasitsa Sky Run route - 81.4 km);
    3. A container/containers for water of a total volume of not less than 500 milliliters;
    4. Food with an energy equivalent of not less than 1000 kcal (mandatory only for participants on Belasitsa Sky Run route - 81.4 km;
    5. Mobile phone with a charged battery and possibility to make outgoing calls on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and the FYR of Macedonia.



Registration


Participation in Belasitsa Sky Run takes place only after registration. Registration is done online at the official site of the event http://active-belasitsa.com. For the registration to be valid all the necessary data in the enrollment form must be filled.


Since the competition is international and crosses the state border between the Republic of Bulgaria and the FYR of Macedonia some personal data is required upon registration. The organizers of the event declare that the personal data of the participants will be maximally protected from any form of wrong use and will not be provided in any form to third parties except for border police representatives.


By registering for the race, each participant in Belasitsa Sky Run declares that he/she fully agrees with these Terms of Participation.


All participants accept at their own risk the possibility of any injuries, traumas and identify themselves as physically healthy and declare that they have the necessary capabilities (physical and mental) to participate in the race. Every participant in the event is enrolled and participates entirely on his/hers own responsibility.


The first 170 registered participants (incl. Belasitsa Sky Run and Belasitsa Sky Run Short) will receive a lightweight sport vest with the competition logo.


The registration opens on 7th June 2017 and closes on 25th September 2017.

 

No registration will be made for Belasitsa Sky Run and Belasitsa Sky Run Short оn race day.



Participation Fee


Participation in the first edition of Belasitsa Sky Run in 2017 is free of charge.

Belasitsa Sky Run is part of the Belasitsa Active Weekend which also includes Kongur Speed Climb for trail runners and cyclists, a short distance running race at the finish area ​​in Petrich, movie night, presentations of the nature and the cultural heritage of Belasitsa region and other surprises.

A detailed agenda for the race and the side events will be announced at least 15 days before the start.

 

 

Organizers and responsibility

 

Organizers of Belasitsa Sky Run are Club for Extreme Sports and Mountaineering Bela Extreme – Petrich (Bulgaria) and Mountaineering and Ecology Club Edelvajs – Strumica (FYR Macedonia).

 

Organizers reserve the right to change the terms and conditions described here at any time without notice.

 

The organizers are not responsible for any injuries, traumas or death of the participants in the race.
