Кongur Speed Climb is a real challenge for the ones who like climbing mountains on bike. The participants will climb 1750 meters for 24.4 kilometers along the steep and beautiful northern slopes of Belasitsa
The route of Кongur Speed Climb for bikers starts in the centre of Petrich in the direction of Tsar Samuil Stadium. After about 1000 meters along the city streets the route takes on the asphalt road to Kongur mountain hut. At 7.3 km after the start the participants will pass by the junction for Belasitsa mountain hut and continue ascending to the left. At the 10th km the route reaches junction for Mravkite locality. This is where the asphalt ends and the race continues on forest road towards Kongur mountain hut. Here is situated the first aid station. The route continues through beech forest along very suitable for cycling forest road. Kongur mountain hut (1280 meters a.s.l.) is at 15.3 km from the start. Here is situated the second aid station. The race continues up following the forest road next by Varshiloto locality (1610 meters a.s.l.) along the ridge leading to the highest point of Kongur peak – 1951 meters a.s.l. The road finishes and the last 250 meters competitors have to pass along a ridge path.
